Other than the International Day of Climate Action, silly! In one month, F&M Ultimate will field its first women's alumni (alumnae?) team. This is history, people.
It seems fitting that the tenth anniversary of HIAAP would coincide with the fortieth anniversary of coeducation at F&M, which coincides with the first time Code Blue has had enough graduates to put up a line. We're getting crazy with commemoration here. But ten years of rockin' Ultimate and forty years of women? We aren't commemorating the emergence of a totally awesome sport, nor are we marking equal opportunity education. We're celebrating the first really good parties in Lancaster.
So when Sam says we're excited to field two alumni teams this year at our home tournament, what he means is that we're excited to field three alumni teams this year — a team of older alums, a team of younger alums, and a team of women alums. So ladies, get excited, get in shape, get emailing. Let me know ASAP (jmitche1@fandm.edu) if you are interested in joining the Code Blue Alumna Team at the home tourney in a few weeks!

Guess what falls a month from today?
If you guessed national blueberry popsicle day, unfortunately you're a month off...
But if you guessed the 10th anniversary of F&M's home Ultimate Frisbee tournament, you're correct!!! As stated in the season schedule (below) our annual fall tournament is falling on October 24-25, which also happens to be alumni weekend! We students are hoping for a HUGE turnout so we can field (and school) two alumni teams!
If you're interested in participating in what will undoubtedly be the greatest HIAAP yet, sign up on this spreadsheet (I think you'll need a google account to actually see the spreadsheet, but that only takes a minute). Most importantly, be sure to spread the word! This weekend will be as amazing as you guys make it. We'll be sure to have activities planned for Saturday evening (more on that front later). Keep checking the website for updates on the tournament and Deep and Code Blue's season updates!

Deep Blue - Fall Semester Recap

Franklin and Marshall Ultimate recently capped off another exciting and succesful fall semester. The season started with Club Sectionals at Rutgers and a mixed tournament at Gettysburg. These were mostly used to shake the rust off and get us into season form. Our next competition was the always interesting Haverween. This year Deep Blue went as Robin Hood men in tights while the girls were dressed as dinosaurs.
Although the first day was rained out, we used our attire to frighten most of the patrons and employees at Lyndon Dinner early that morning. On Sunday we beat St. Joes and earned a tough fought victory against Cornell B.
Captains Matt Satell and Drew Korns emphasized building a foundation of conditioning that would prepare us for long tournaments, and a nasty zone D that was nearly unbreakable in windy conditions. With our team making great progress in practice, the home tournament came at a great time. The first day included a 13-0 pounding of a high school team (show no mercy!), a win against Montclair State, a universe-point-loss vs Bucknell, and a victory against Vasser to bring us to the championship bracket. With high expectations for the next day, we started with a big win against Lehigh X, earning us a berth in the finals. Although everyone played their hardest, Bucknell proved to be too much and won 15-8. The second place finish matched our best performance at the home tournament.
The final contest of the season came at first annual 3 Guys 1 Cup St Joes Tournament. This one day slosh fest proved to be the climax of our season as we held our four opponents under 6 points, earning us our first tournament victory in recent memory and a bottle of Courvoisier Cognac as our trophy.
This spring we will be looking to build off of fall momentum and hope to culminate our efforts with a bid to regionals. We will post our spring schedule when it is available.

Welcome Back!
First of all, welcome back to current players and all F&M students, hope you all had a great summer! In July, both the men's and women's teams were well represented at the 16th annual Wildwood Beach Ultimate tournament in Wildwood, NJ. It was our seventh year of sending teams to the tournament. Every year it's a great opportunity for our men, women, and alumni to integrate and enjoy some competitive but laid back ultimate and have fun on the beach! Some pictures are listed below...
